regulation amending and correcting EC Regulation 10/2011on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food shows that three nanomaterials have been approved for such use. Furthermore another material has been amended to allow for the nanoform of it to be used.

The European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) has published its final opinion on the Guidance on the Determination of Potential Health Effects of Nanomaterials Used in Medical Devices, following a consultation to which eleven organisations, including NIA, responded.

“New developments on the evaluation and control of workers exposure to nanomaterials” workshop was held 3rd of December. The workshop was focused on disseminate the European project LIFE NanoRisk (LIFE12 ENV/ES/178) developments, funded by the LIFE Programme+ Política y Gobernanza.

ITENE, on behalf of the Nanorisk Project consortium, will participate in the Fourth International Conference NANOSAFE 2014. It will be held from 18th to 20th Novembre 2014 in MINATEC, Grenoble, France.

The Topical Scientific Workshop on Nanomaterials entitled  “Regulatory Challenges in Risk Assessment of Nanomaterials” was held at ECHA (European Chemicals Agency)in Helsinki, Finland.
